Bow back shirt

Cut out t-shirts are such a fun trend to try this summer, the little peak of skin keeps you cool in the hot weather and always prevents your outfits from getting boring, specially when you style them with a fun bandeau!

While going through my cupboard, I discovered a few t-shirts that I haven’t worn in a while and my love for DIY prompted me to make my own cut out t-shirt in the form of a bow back shirt.

Step 1: I started with a turtleneck t-shirt. I cut out its neckline roughly.

Step 2: Next, I trimmed the neckline neatly to the desired depth. An easy way of doing this is to mark the sides of the neck and the center with tiny straight lines. Next, cut the central portion to the desired depth and link the two sides with it.

Step 3: Do the same to the back portion of the top

Step 4: Fold your top in half in such a way that the sleeves are facing you. Next, make a few horizontal slits on the backside of the top as shown in the pictures! Space these slits at an equal distance of about 1 to 2 inches apart depending on how big you want your bows.

Step 5: Collect small rectangular pieces of the same type or different type of cloth and tie the edges of two slits together. You can use fabric glue to stick the ends of your rectangular cloth piece or you can sew the ends together.

And now you have your masterpiece!
