Bow back shirt

Cut out t-shirts are such a fun trend to try this summer, the little peak of skin keeps you cool in the hot weather and always prevents your outfits from getting boring, specially when you style them with a fun bandeau!

While going through my cupboard, I discovered a few t-shirts that I haven’t worn in a while and my love for DIY prompted me to make my own cut out t-shirt in the form of a bow back shirt.

Step 1: I started with a turtleneck t-shirt. I cut out its neckline roughly.

Step 2: Next, I trimmed the neckline neatly to the desired depth. An easy way of doing this is to mark the sides of the neck and the center with tiny straight lines. Next, cut the central portion to the desired depth and link the two sides with it.

Step 3: Do the same to the back portion of the top

Step 4: Fold your top in half in such a way that the sleeves are facing you. Next, make a few horizontal slits on the backside of the top as shown in the pictures! Space these slits at an equal distance of about 1 to 2 inches apart depending on how big you want your bows.

Step 5: Collect small rectangular pieces of the same type or different type of cloth and tie the edges of two slits together. You can use fabric glue to stick the ends of your rectangular cloth piece or you can sew the ends together.

And now you have your masterpiece!

Necklace Organizer

Do you guys have a bunch of necklaces that keep getting tangled?

Well I did, so I came up with this super easy and cute jewelry organizer to store my necklaces.

Step 1: Get any cardboard box you have lying at home, and open it up keeping the edges intact.

Open the box with edges intact

Step 2: Cut it like this to get the basic outline of your jewelry box.

Step 3: Next get a strip of cardboard the same height at the edges and put it in the middle of your box.

Step 4: Cover the entire box with fancy tape.  I used  two types of tape, you can use just one if you want.

Step 5: Get some sturdy paper and cut strips with the same height and width as the middle cardboard piece. Fold a bit of the paper horizontally so that this is easier to stick. Place these on you box.

Step 6: Next, take smaller strips and stick them as shown to further divide the box into smaller compartments.

Step 7: Do the same on the other half of the box. You can play around with the compartments as you like to suit your needs.

Step 8: Now comes the cover, which is optional. I took another piece of stiff paper and drew the outline of my box with pencil in the center of the paper.
Next, I drew lines around the center of the paper of the width equal to the height of the cover that I wanted and cut it out.

Step 9: I cut the squares at the edges as shown to make the process of sticking everything easier. Next, as predicted I stuck the edges together to make the cover.

Step 10:  To make the flower on the box, I cut out different sized flower petals and curled them with the help of a pencil. I stuck them all together as shown.

First make a rough big flower.

Stick a smaller flower in the big one.

Keep doing the same thing till you have the desired detail!

Step 11: To finish decorating my cover, I pasted the flower and added ribbons!

Glam up your mirror!

Bored of the same mirror frame? Want to add some spice? Then this is the perfect DIY task for you!

Before

Step 1: Get some chart paper and cut it in the shape of your mirror. You might need to cut and paste more than one chart paper to get the shape, but that doesn’t matter since the paint should conceal that. I used rectangular pieces of chart paper to cover my mirror. I made sure my rectangles were a little smaller than the width of my mirror frame, since I wanted some wood to show.

Step 2: Now we need to give an ombre effect. Use a sponge and put the darkest paint on the edge of the paper, followed by lighter paints. Do the same from the opposite edge and leave the middle white.

Make sure you paint over a newspaper!

Add the darkest color first.

Tip: After you’ve used the lightest color, add some paint to a toothbrush and spray it at the junction of the white part and the lightest color. This will give a better ombre finish.

Step 3: Stick this onto your mirror and you have a renewed mirror frame!
